I have been using Switchcraft 228’s on my cables for many years. I soldered up 10 cables with these 14 years ago and not one of them has ever failed. They are built like tanks. I can’t recommend them enough. If you are wondering which pancake plugs you should buy, well these staring at you right in the face. Can’t go wrong buddy. Cheers.

While these male sockets are typically used for amp to ensure the male plug isn’t accidentally sheared off, I think they should be used on leads for guitars like the Gibson SG. I have seen one guitar where the lead was stepped on too many times and the wood holding the female jack was damaged.
