As we step back in time , we now turn our attention to the legendary Tweed series. The Tweeds are the amps of purists, uncomplicated in design , rich and organic in sound.
63' Brownface Series
Two of the best amps we’ve had the pleasure of servicing were a 63 Deluxe and a 63 Vibroverb. The Vibroverb in particular was the best amp we’ve heard. Regarded as one of the holy grail amps, only a small quantity were built between 1962 -63. There is a particular magic to these brownface amps , a certain depth and character of tone . Our builds are modeled on these amps. The generous owners lend us their amps to allow us to do A/B testing, to achieve a favorable comparison to the originals.
